Charley Malloy (Rod Steiger) is trying to convince his brother Terry (Marlon Brando) not to testify in court against the mob boss they work for, so he offers him a job down at the docks to try and keep Terry quiet. However, Terry is fed up with Charley never looking out for him and feels betrayed by his own brother for asking him to throw boxing matches when he had real potential and could've been a contender.
