After sounding the alarm to warn the townsfolk that a piece of sky has fallen on his head, Chicken Little becomes a laughing stock – even his own father, Buck Cluck, doesn’t believe him. With the help of his best friends and fellow misfits, Abby Mallard, Fish Out of Water, and Runt, Chicken Little determines to join the baseball team to make his father proud. Against all odds, he scores the winning run in the big game and becomes the town’s new hero. But when Chicken Little finds yet another piece of fallen sky and discovers that it is actually a chameleon-like piece of an alien spaceship, he has to decide whether to ignore the danger and bask in the glory of his new-found celebrity, or sound the alarm to warn the town of what may be an impending alien invasion – and risk being ridiculed again. Cast: Zach Braff (Chicken Little), Joan Cusack (Abby Mallard), Steve Zahn (Runt of the Litter), Garry Marshall (Buck Cluck), Amy Sedaris (Foxy Loxy), Don Knotts (Mayor Turkey Lurkey), Patrick Stewart (Mr. Woolensworth), Wallace Shawn (Principal Fetchit), Dan Molina (Fish out of Water). Songs: “One Little Slip,” “All I Know” Directed by Mark Dindal Released on Nov. 4, 2005. US Home Media Releases: March 21, 2006 (VHS/DVD); March 20, 2007 (BR); February 8, 2011 (BR); November 8, 2011 (3DBR) Trivia: • Frames: 116,640 • In a departure from Disney tradition, the score is chock-full of pop music hits, including Patti LaBelle’s “Stir It Up,” Diana Ross’ “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and the Chicken Little cast singing “We Are the Champions” and “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart.” • There are approximately 600 muscles in the human body. Chicken Little, small as he is, actually has 700 muscles that animators move and control to get the right performance. Muscles had to be placed in his tail and comb to get the desired movement. • Upon its release, the film opened in 84 theaters in a new Disney Digital 3D format.
