In July 2019, comedy legend Larry Charles (Seinfeld, Borat) paid a visit to Tulsa to screen and discuss his directorial debut "Masked & Anonymous" (2003) starring co-writer Bob Dylan, John Goodman and Penélope Cruz. Confounding audiences and critics alike on its initial release, the film remains oddly prescient in its subversive depiction of a post-political society seeking refuge in the pablum of government conspiracies and false security of authoritarianism.
