Philip Seymour Hoffman & Bennett Miller on Capote | From the FLC Archives

One of the greatest actors of his generation, Philip Seymour Hoffman would have turned 53 today, July 23, 2020. To celebrate his legacy, we're proud to share a never-before-published press conference for Capote from the 43rd New York Film Festival in 2005, featuring the actor and director Bennett Miller discussing their Oscar-winning drama. The always eloquent Hoffman spoke about what he did to prepare for the role, the illusive mysteries of Truman Capote’s life, and why the role left no emotional scars. Bennett Miller opened up about his approach for the look of the movie, working with the cast, the emotions required of a director on set, and how the rest of film's ensemble fits into Capote's story. As we revisit one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s finest performances, we hope you enjoy this glimpse into his process.
