Kai (Keanu Reeves) leads Yoshio Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada) and the ronin to the Tengu Forest to retrieve the Tengu swords: mystical blades that will help them avenge Lord Asano (Min Tanaka). Aware of the twisted illusions his former master and the magical forest itself play on those who enter, Kai warns Oishi to resist the urge to draw his sword.
