An invitation from the king arrives, requesting all eligible maidens to attend a palace ball intended to help his son, the prince, find a wife. While Cinderella’s stepmother keeps her busy with chores, Cinderella’s animal friends transform an old dress into a lovely gown, which Cinderella’s stepsisters destroy. Brokenhearted, Cinderella renounces her faith in dreams.
