Theatrical Trailer (PAL)

The Wiggles Movie trailer, sourced from the website for Beyond Distribution (their page for The Wiggles Movie is no longer up). It is a PAL transfer running at 25 frames per second, which sped up from its original 24 frames per second. The process of speeding it up results in a higher pitch, unlike the video releases of the film itself where pitch correction was applied.
The trailer shows much of the original open matte frame, though at a 4:3 aspect ratio it likely shows less on the sides than the original film (which was probably closer to 3:2). Regardless, there is gained height compared to the home video releases, showing errors such as stage lights and the rope tied to the Big Red Car. These would have been matted off in the widescreen theatrical presentation of both the trailer and film itself.
This trailer was repurposed for promoting the 2003 United States and Canada release, both in its working title "Dorothy's Magical Birthday: A Movie Adventure" and the final title "Magical Adventure! A Wiggly Movie." The open matte framing was retained, and despite NTSC regions being capable of playing 24fps content at its regular speed, it was the same 25fps transfer with fake frames added (blending one frame to the next) to increase it to NTSC standard 29.97 frames per second, retaining the same high pitched sound. The movie would be given the same treatment, but with the pitch corrected again. This botched NTSC transfer with the "Magical Adventure!" title would of course be transferred back to PAL for all Australian and UK DVD releases, which is why our goal is to spread the word about seeing The Wiggles Movie be restored to its original format, hopefully in HD and widescreen for the first time. If at all possible, we'd like to see this trailer restored as well and included in any potential future release.
