The Nightingales pull together following their recent revelation. Marnie overhears a private conversation and uses it to her advantage, while Holly is in shock when Robbie makes a life-changing suggestion.

The McQueen’s prepare for Pete’s trial, but Cleo feels let down when Reenie goes missing and Holly finds her outside The Dog. After an altercation with Mercedes, John Paul realises he can’t be with his family at the trial, and Scott tries to cheer him up by telling him he loves him. At the trial Cleo is put under pressure when she is asked questions about Rachel's death.

Pete’s trial continues with witness statements from Harry, Jade, Celine and finally Reenie takes to the stand. Later that day, Alfie goes to see Jade and tells her that he can’t be more than her friend because he doesn’t want her to be heartbroken when he dies like Nathan is about Rachel.

Reenie gives Mercedes food for thought when she mentions something about a children’s book, and with Celine’s help they tear Cleo’s room apart and find a clue. Meanwhile, Pete is being questioned by both sides and puts on the performance of his life, and Cleo is called back to the stand.

Flashback to sixteen year old Billy and fifteen year old Jack getting ready to hit the town on New Year’s Eve, despite their mother trying to protest. Young Billy and Jack head out to teach someone a lesson, but good-guy Jack is hesitant. In the present day, Jack is gutted when the Osbornes return to Hollyoaks instead of fleeing to Ireland. He leaves a note for them and goes to The Loft, but Eva is there enjoying her New Year’s Eve. What will happen when the pair come face to face?! Meanwhile, Harry is planning to propose to Ste, but his plans are sabotaged when he gets on the wrong side of Prince and Hunter.
